For making onion fritters; first, peel 3 medium onions. Cut each onion in half and slice them into half-moon shapes that are not too thick. The cup measure we use in the recipe is 200 ml.
In a deep bowl, put 1 cup of flour, 1 packet of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of black pepper, half a teaspoon of cumin, and 1 teaspoon of chili flakes, and mix well with a whisk. Then, gradually pour 1 bottle of mineral water over the ingredients. Mix with a wire whisk until it reaches a smooth consistency. The consistency of the mixture will be thick and flowing. If necessary, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of flour. Finally, add the sliced onions to the mixture. Ensure all ingredients are well mixed.
Next, pour enough vegetable oil into a large pan to cover the bottom, and heat it thoroughly. Take 1 tablespoonful of the onion mixture and place it into the oil. Fry until both sides turn golden brown.
Place the fried onions on a plate lined with paper towels to drain the excess oil. You can then serve them hot. If you wish, you can prepare a yogurt-based dipping sauce to accompany the onion fritters.
