Wash rice and drain. Put a deep saucepan. Add enough water to cover and a pinch salt. Cook over medium heat until tender.

On the other hand, take 4-5 tablespoon milk in a bowl. Put the starch and vanilla onto and mix. Then, put milk, sugar and rice into a deep saucepan. Get the heat. Stir over medium heat until boiling.

Pour starch mixture into boiling milk. Stirring until 10 minutes to cook.

Finally, put the egg yolk in a bowl. Add 1/2 scoop rice pudding mixture onto and mix very well. Then, add the mix. Stirring, cook 5 more minutes.

Pour a small sized oven dishes prepared rice pudding. Put the bowls into oven tray. Pour 1 cup cold water into the tray. Give a preheated 200 degree oven. Turn on the grill part and cook until a layer of burns onto the rice pudding.

Get the rice pudding from stove. Let baked pudding cool slightly. Then, leave to cool in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Sprinkle crushed nuts onto baked rice pudding. Serve cold.

Sutlac (Baked Rice Pudding) is a light dessert originated in Ottoman cuisine. This creamy dessert is one of the most consumed desserts in Turkey.
