    Caterpillar Cookie Recipe

    Ingredients :

    • 125 g butter (at room temperature)
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 1 cup wheat starch
    • 1 egg
    • 5 g baking powder
    • 2.5 g vanilla
    • 2 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
    • For Over :
    • Dark chocolate
    • Coconut, green powder pistachio

    Preparation :

    Put butter, vegetable oil, powdered sugar and egg into a deep bowl, mix thoroughly.

    Then, add starch, baking powder, vanilla and flour little by little. Remold till you get a dough doesn"t stick to your hand.

    Then, receive a small amount dough. Put the dough into caterpillar mold. Press down with your fingers. Remove the desired length. Give a preheated 170 degree oven. Cook for about 15 minutes.

    Remove cooked caterpillar cookies from the oven, leave to cool. On the other side, take dark chocolate in to a bowl and melt by ben-mari style. Dip cookies in melted dark chocolate. Then, dip into coconut and green pistachio powder and serve.

    What is Bain-Marie Method?

    One container with chocolate to be cooked is placed in another, larger pan containing water that is at the simmering point. This method of cooking surrounds the chocolate with very low heat. So the chocolate melts during the time. This cooking method is also used for custards or white sauces.

    A bain-marie cooking method is also known as a water bath or double boiler.
